UTTOXETER Saturday March 14th

So that's it for another year, but we now have Aintree and the Grand National to look forward to. On to today.

I think MON MOME in the feature race of the day (3.10 Uttoxeter) over 4miles and a slog with the weight but i think he should go close.

2.05 UTTOX DREAM GARDEN
3.10 UTTOX MON MOME
3.40 UTTOX FIENDISH FLAME

Cheltenham Festival 2009 Day 4 Review

It,s the forth day at cheltenham and the one everyone has been waiting for GOLD CUP DAY!!!. although before the gold cup there is the 2:40 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle (Registered As The Spa Novices' Hurdle Race) Grade 1 Cl1 and SUNNYHILL BOY never fails to suprize and i think he might have an ew snip

In the 1.30 a very hard race to pick from but i will have to give TRENCHANT a chance for A King and at around 20-1 he's great value.

Well on to the gold cup and how can you look away from KAUTO STAR now hovering around 9-4 you can't ignore him and i don't think Denman is back to his best yet or it might be a different story. Kauto is pure class and should see these off like another Dessie.

1.30 TRENCHANT
2.40 SUNNYHILL BOY
2.40 ON RAGLAN ROAD
3.20 KAUTO STAR

GOOD LOOK!!!

Cheltenham Festival 2009 Day 3

Thursday 12th of March and with two grade 1 trophies up for grabs today seems another exciting day of racing.

The Ryanair chase kicks off at 2.40 and Voy por Ustedes leads the
market at around evens, a little value coming from the class of Our Vic. Pulled up last time ( first time out in december ). This is a cracking horse that beat Kauto Star last year at Aintree a return of that form will surely see him go close and at around 6-1 its a little more value than the fav.

The second grade 1 of the day is the World Hurdle and i'm finding it hard to steer away from Punchestown with 8lb in the bag over Big Bucks this time i think he will reverse the placings of 47 days ago. I think the 8lb will make a big difference over 3 miles and at around 7-2 with most bookies is good value.

2.40 OUR VIC
3.20 PUNCHESTOWN

Cheltenham Festival 2009 Day 2

On we go with day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival. Some superb racing yesterday with Binocular just failing Oh for another 50 yards hey, not to take any credit away from Punjabi who ran a brilliant race.
On to today and the feature race of the day is the Queen mother Champion Chase. With 12 going to post and leading them in the market the magnificent Master Minded. It's just a shame his price isn't magnificent. I think i might be looking for a little value with Big Zeb at around 12-1 shot and may cause an upset but a great chance of a place if not quite good enough to win.

One's to keep an eye on -

1.30 kornati Kid
2.05 Diamond Harry
2.40 ballyfitz
4.00 ninetieth minute

All the best

Cheltenham Festival 2009 Day 1

Cheltenham Festival 2009 Day 1

The festival looks very exciting for 2009 with the four day meeting getting underway on Tuesdays the 10th of March. The race of the day is the Champion Hurdle in the 3.20. With the focus on BINOCULAR.

1.30 williamhill.com Supreme Novices' Hurdle Grade 1 Cl1
With 30 declared to go to post and the class available to choose from, i think i might just be watching this one. i like COUSIN VINNEY.

2:05 Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase Grade 1 Cl1
19 declared with I'M SINGING THE BLUES looking like a great each chance at around 9-1.

2:40 William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase Grade 3 Cl1
With 44 declared to run on Tuesday this looks like a tough nut to crack.

3:20 Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy Grade 1 Cl1
All eyes on BINOCULAR. Will he get up the Cheltenham hill or won't he. There is a lot of speculation on this and everyone has there own view but i think he will, i think the hill took him by surprise on his last visit to Cheltenham but this time they are working on leaving him a little later this time. As weall say we all make mistakes but the ones who learn from them become stronger and wiser and i think that is just what i believe BINOCULAR, Henderson and AP will have done.Great value at around 7-4.

4:00 Glenfarclas Handicap Chase Cross Country Chase Cl2
27 Declared for this one with the top four weights on the card look like ruling the roost.

4:40 David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle Grade 2 Cl1
UNITED is back to his best trip in my opinion and i think there may be more than 4-1 on offer on the day.

All the best with the festival meeting
